Aperol 1L is the bright orange Italian aperitif created by the Barbieri brothers in Padua in 1919. It is made with a recipe that includes bitter and sweet orange, rhubarb and gentian, and at 11% ABV it is light enough for an afternoon drink. It is, of course, the star of the Aperol Spritz.
What It Tastes Like
It is a vivid orange colour. The nose is orange peel with a herbal note. On the palate it is bittersweet and zesty, with orange, a little rhubarb and a gentle bitterness. The finish is fresh.
