Fundador Sherry Cask 1L
Fundador Sherry Cask 1L
Fundador Sherry Cask 1L comes from Fundador, which first produced Spanish brandy in 1874. It is aged in American oak barrels that previously held sherry from Jerez, which gives it its dried fruit and nutty character. The house of Fundador is today part of the Emperador group.
What It Tastes Like
It is a deep amber, close to mahogany. The smell is rich; raisins, figs, toasted nuts and a little vanilla. On the palate it is round and smooth, with dried fruit, caramel and soft oak. The finish is warm and fairly long.
About the 1L Bottle
The 1L bottle is good value for brandy lovers. We like it neat after dinner; however, it also does well over ice or with ginger ale, which picks up the fruit notes nicely.
