Nikka Coffey Gin 70CL is made by Nikka, the Japanese whisky company, using its Coffey stills; these are column stills that give a smooth, rounded spirit. The gin features Japanese citrus such as yuzu, kabosu, amanatsu and shikuwasa, together with apple and sansho pepper. It is 47% ABV.
What It Tastes Like
The nose is very fresh, with mixed Japanese citrus and a little apple. On the palate it is smooth and round, with zesty citrus, juniper and the tingling, peppery note of sansho. The finish is long and clean.

The 70CL bottle is the standard size. Because it is 47%, it holds up very well with tonic; we like it with a slice of lemon or a strip of yuzu peel if you can find it, or simply with soda water.
