The Balvenie 12 Year Old DoubleWood 70CL comes from Dufftown in Speyside, where The Balvenie still grows some of its own barley, malts it on traditional floor maltings and keeps its own coopers and coppersmith. DoubleWood is aged in American oak and then finished in European oak sherry casks.
What It Tastes Like
It is a rich gold. The nose has honey, vanilla and dried fruit. On the palate it is smooth and mellow, with nutty sweetness, cinnamon and sherry. The finish is long and warm.
