Rémy Martin Louis XIII Cognac 70CL
Rémy Martin Louis XIII Cognac 70CL
Rémy Martin Louis XIII Cognac 70CL was first created in 1874, and it is one of the most famous cognacs ever made. It is a blend of up to 1,200 eaux-de-vie, all from Grande Champagne, and some of them have been ageing for many decades. Each bottle comes in a hand-crafted crystal decanter; in fact, people often keep the decanter long after the cognac is gone.
What It Tastes Like
It is a deep, almost reddish mahogany. The aroma has many layers; honey, dried roses, plum, a resin note similar to myrrh and something that reminds us of a cigar box. On the palate it is silky yet powerful, with dried fruit, leather, spice and very fine wood. The finish is extraordinarily long, and it changes the longer it sits in the glass.
About the 70CL Decanter
The 70CL crystal decanter is as much a part of Louis XIII as the cognac itself. It is the bottle for once-in-a-lifetime moments; a milestone birthday, a wedding or a very important deal. Serve it neat, in small measures, at room temperature.
